UPDATE MAY 27, 2020   (5)

How to speed up your border crossing to enter Croatia?

Thanks to current conditions in Croatia (Out of 2.244 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic, 2.047 people have fully recovered. Only 92 cases of COVID-19 remain active with 101 deaths recorded to this day and no new cases in past three days) there is a large interest in visiting the country. Because of many people trying to enter Croatia and a bit longer procedure while crossing the border concerning COVID-19, queues at the borders may be expected.

With the summer approaching and predictions of increase interest in visits to Croatia the government had created a new website in order to shorten time spent on border crossing. On this page you will be able to previously enter some basic personal data concerning your entry to Croatia, that will be accessible to the border officers at the moment you find yourself face to face with one. We all recognise the benefits of such enter to Croatia, and we hope it will shorten your Croatian border crossing.
Another plus of using this on-line form is that you will be informed about recommendations and active measures in Croatia at the time being concerning COVID-19. Providing your e-mail on this online form gives the authorities the ability be contact you in the event of a virus outbreak.

Which data should a reservation or a voucher contain?

Croatia is now opened for foreign tourists for more than a week.
We believe that some of you may combine your charter vacation with staying at hotels or private villas and apartments.  To prevent any unwanted situation on entering Croatia we advise you to check your documents (reservation, voucher, …) for all necessary information concerning service provider and the client. More accurate description can be found on this government website.

UPDATE MAY 21, 2020   (4)

How safe is to travel to Croatia?

Well, travelling to Croatia is as safe as travelling to any other country in Europe. Croatian authorities took measures as soon as possible which resulted in infections and deaths well below the European average.

On May 21 2020 Croatia has 162 active recorded cases of infection. The total of 2.237 cases of infection resulted in 97 deaths and 1978 recovered cases.

Today’s state we can thank to the authorities that not only closed the Croatian borders but restricted all unnecessary travel between the municipals including the islands. Most of the islands stayed almost Corona free during this period.

When will tourism start in Croatia?

It is all still uncertain but first steps my just begin. The thing that favours tourism in Croatia is the vicinity to Central and Eastern Europe and the fact that the large numbers of tourists come here with their car.
Only thing that we can answer at the moment is who is allowed to cross Croatian border.

Who can enter the country?

Past few days Croatian borders are opened for EU citizens (and some other as well) only concerning economical, business or tourist activities and these should be confirmed by a certain documents such as title deed or purchase contract of the real estate or vessel you own in Croatia, or confirmation of accommodation booking/ berth reservation/ travel agency Voucher, etc.
Some frequently asked questions on this topic and an on-line contact form you can find on UZG COVID Ministry of the Interior website

How can we travel to/from Croatia?

Some useful information is that when coming via road you should use only motorways to reach your final destination, keep distance between you and other people during the breaks you take and obey the rules of Civil protection or police officers. Basic guidelines from Croatian Institute of Public Health for your stay in Croatia you can find here. And if you want to get idea what to expect during your stay please check this link.

Border crossing for transit freight traffic is allowed on just several points. Also not all border crossings are opened for traffic. You can find latest information on this topic on Croatian auto club official page.

Although Croatia was well connected via air with cities throughout the world before this COVID-19 period begin, now the answer to the question about flights to Croatia is not the one we all wish for. All international travel companies are faced with flight restriction and in post-corona period one can also expect a significant reduction in flights. In case your domicile country is Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Poland, Czech R, Slovakia or Hungary, you could consider to have a car driven holiday to Adriatic this summer, or you can focus on finding first available flight - updated useful info concerning flights to/from Croatia on this official page.

What will happen to my holiday in Croatia this summer 2020?

These are uncertain times and no one can know what will happen in two to three month period when nautical season starts here in Croatia.  Not only does this depend on circumstances in Croatia and its part of Adriatic but also on the situation of your domicile country and other countries as well.

In general, all charter agreements which have already been signed for season 2020 a rescheduling option will be available for another term in 2020 or 2021, should Covid-19 official measures still be in place in Croatia 14 days prior to the beginning of the charter.
