MLJET NATIONAL PARK – The most beautiful and the greenest of all Adriatic islands is Mljet. Its North-West part was proclaimed National Park in late 1960 covering the area of almost 5400 hectares (53km2). The island itself is 37 km long with total surface of 98 km2 (38 mil2). Most of its 1.100 inhabitants are oriented on agriculture cultivation of grapes and olives, and tourism.

LASTOVO ISLANDS NATURE PARK – Imagine yourself in a picturesque settlement, surrounded by dense forests and fertile fields on one side and high coastal steeps and underwater caves on the other…it feels like the time stopped and you can envisage fishermen unpacking fishing gear from their boats or salting fish. Trying to preserve such ambience the government declared Lastovo archipelago a nature park in 2006. Within beams of light reaching from four most prominent lighthouses Sušac, Tajan, Glavat and Sturga, on total land area of 53 km2 of which 41 km2 are of island Lastovo with only 5 settlements, 800 people found their home.
One thing that gives a special charm to 15th century houses in Lastovo are chimneys that stand today as reminder to competitive spirit between its Renaissance inhabitants. Island attraction is also the Lastovo Poklad (Carnival), held each February, that dates back to period when Moor siege of south Dalmatian islands took part.
